On Wednesday, September 4, Beau DeMayo took to X (formerly Twitter) with a cheeky update: The only place [Link to thebeaudemayo.com] you’ll hear the whole truth. Thank you for all the love and support.”

Clicking that link takes you to a photo of DeMayo in a Speedo, enjoying the sun. While it might sound like a vacation snap, it’s actually a gateway to his OnlyFans account, where subscribers can find a 30-minute video revealing his side of the story. The page also includes links to his Instagram and X.

His exit from X-Men ’97 has left fans confused. The series, which was set to continue the beloved ’90s X-Men animated show, was on the verge of making a big comeback. But just before it premiered, DeMayo was unexpectedly let go, and the reasons behind his departure are still a mystery.

Fast forward a few months, and the 42-year-old is now claiming that his exit was anything but ordinary. In a the video on his OnlyFans account (via Variety), DeMayo accused Marvel, saying:

The rumors being spread around me online are lies, and they are offensive, but more concerning is that they’re a smear campaign designed to discredit my credibility in order to cover up the egregious prejudicial misconduct stretching from select crew members on X-Men ’97, all the way all the way to the top at Marvel Studios.

DeMayo is accusing Marvel and Disney of running a smear campaign against him. He claims it’s all meant to damage his reputation and distract from what he calls ‘egregious prejudicial misconduct.’

According to him, his firing was not about creative differences or poor performance, but rather a personal vendetta tied to his identity as a proud gay Black man. It seems that DeMayo’s firing was less about comic book heroes and more about real-world battles.

Beau DeMayo’s Marvel Firing Explained

In March 2024, Marvel Studios said goodbye to Beau DeMayo, but the drama didn’t come to light until late summer. On August 15, The Hollywood Reporter revealed Marvel’s official stance:

Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately, and he has no further affiliation with Marvel.

Rumors swirled that the misconduct was of a s*xual nature. But DeMayo didn’t take this lying down. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, he claimed he was axed not for misconduct, but for sharing fan art of himself as Cyclops during Gay Pride, which, according to him, cost him his credits for X-Men ’97 season 2.

Marvel hit back, saying DeMayo’s firing was actually due to him breaking terms in his agreement. Not one to let things slide, DeMayo has now teased on his OnlyFans account that he’ll soon reveal the “whole truth” about his work on X-Men ’97 and the long-awaited Blade project. It looks like the story’s far from over!
