He’s known for being a true gentleman – polite, well-spoken, and always dressed to impress. Even though Cumberbatch is a big star, he stays humble and down-to-earth. Moreover, the guy never fails to praise his fellow actors and directors he has worked worked with.

In 2014, while promoting their film The Imitation Game, Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch were conducting a joint interview. Interviewer David Poland commented on the Pride & Prejudice star‘s appearance, stating she looked “a little worn out.” To this, Ben swiftly responded (via YouTube):

That’s not a nice thing to say to one of the most beautiful woman on the planet.

The actress, clearly irritated by the question, chased after him and said “f*** you!” to Poland (jokingly though). However, she later explained it was likely because she was very hungry at the time. “I’m just basically really hungry,” Knightley said.

“It’s like hunger range that’s about to come out in this nasty demon,” she explained, switching to a childlike voice as if she were about to cry. “I know that no one thinks i do eat but I do need food every now and then,” she added, while Batch chuckled beside her.

Knightley described Cumberbatch as a brilliant actor and a fun friend. They enjoy good food and conversation, and she admires his passion for acting. Knightley went on to say:

He has been there, taking me out to dinner, coming round to the house, being the one who listened.

The British actress praised the Hollywood mogul’s kindness and empathy, saying he always stands for others. Knightley feels lucky to have found a friend like Cumberbatch and is happy to see him succeed.
