The Doctor Who VR Game Finally Announced
An all-new Doctor Who VR game is on its way and it will immerse players in the universe of the franchise via virtual reality. It’s titled Doctor Who: The Edge of Time and will be releasing in September. Developed by Maze Theory and published by PlayStack; it’s inspired by the history of the series. But it’s going to feature the ongoing incarnation of Doctor Who, portrayed by Jodie Whittaker.
Doctor Who Announced On Monday
The new project was announced on Monday by BBC with the trailer giving us an insight as to what fans may expect in the upcoming Doctor Who game. Players will be able to use Sonic Screwdriver all the way through the game; solving puzzles and facing enemies like Weeping Angels who appear in the teaser trailer. All Doctor Who fans who’ve been seeing the show for years will also recognise some more characters that people will be encountering in Doctor Who: Edge of Time.

“Armed with the iconic Sonic Screwdriver, players will solve mind-bending puzzles, grapple with classic monsters and encounter new horizons in a quest to find the Doctor and defeat a powerful force that threatens to destroy the fabric of reality,” the site for the game said. “They will face the infamous Daleks and other known faces from the Doctor’s universe plus some brand new never-before-seen monsters as they travel through stunning cinematic environments that truly bring the show to life!”

Talking about the story of the game, it will be tasking players with riddling of the universe of some virus “that threatens to rip apart reality itself.” By piloting the TARDIS, players will be able to visit “familiar and strange to recover a series of powerful time crystals that can repair spacetime and ultimately save the universe itself.”
We don’t know release date for the Doctor Who game yet but it’s expected to drop sometime in September. It will be available for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, Vive Cosmos, HTC Vive.
