The Legends Of Tomorrow S7 Finale Stars Donald Faison-And He Appears To Be Playing Booster Gold
Donald Faison has been cast in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s Season 7 finale:
Donald Faison has been cast in the Season 7 finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. While Faison’s role has not been officially confirmed, an official character description makes it sound like the Scrubs actor is portraying Booster Gold, the greatest hero you’ve never heard of. According to Entertainment Weekly, Faison will appear in the 13th and final episode of Legends of Tomorrow Season 7, “Knocked Down, Knocked Up,” which will premiere on The CW on Wednesday, March 2. The Legends first encounter this guy at a different stage of his career, whose golden years are in the rearview mirror, according to the official description of Faison’s role. Deep down, he is a decent man; his ego is searching for a boost that only fame, riches, and glory can deliver. He claims he was recruited to work for a covert time organization, but he wasn’t given much of a choice.
The character of Faison is described as “an unlicensed time traveler with high-profile goals. He has a mischievous streak and cuts a few corners along the route to accomplishing his dreams:
The description continues to refer to Faison’s persona as “He acquired a mischievous streak and cut a few corners on his road to attaining his ambitions as an unlicensed time traveler with high-profile aspirations.” He is well-versed in the Legends of Tomorrow and finds them inspirational since they are the type of heroes that built their powers from the bottom up, rather than receiving them from an alien planet, a spider bite, or affluent parents. But the key issue is whether his loyalty to the team will get the Legends out of hot trouble or lead them into even hotter water!” “I’ve been a Legends of Tomorrow fan since the first season, and I’ve always wanted to be a part of the DC Comics universe,” Faison told Entertainment Weekly. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a wonderful cast.” Dan Jurgens created Michael Jon Carter/Booster Gold, who first appeared in Booster Gold # 1 in February 1986. Booster Gold, easily identified by his brilliant gold and blue uniform and Legion of Super-Heroes flying ring, is a time-traveling superhero who was initially presented as brash and fame-hungry but grew more respectable over time, even though some of his contemporaries remained skeptical. Booster Gold is arguably most well known for his collaboration with Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle.
While it’s unclear whether Faison is truly portraying Booster Gold in Legends of Tomorrow, the official description supplied by The CW makes his character seem to fit the bill:
While it is unclear whether Faison is portraying Booster Gold in Legends of Tomorrow, the official description supplied by The CW makes his character appear to fit the bill. It even worked with the terms “golden” and “boost” in the same line. It should also be noted that in the original DC comics, Booster Gold is the father of fellow time-traveler Rip Hunter, represented by Arthur Darvill in Legends of Tomorrow. Eric Martsolf previously played Booster Gold in the Smallville Season 10 episode “Booster,” which aired on The CW in 2011. A Booster Gold solo series was in the works at Syfy at one time, but the concept was eventually scrapped. The Season 7 finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, “Knocked Down, Knocked Up,” will premiere on The CW on Wednesday, March 2.
