One of the milestones of their relationship is Pam’s pregnancy, which resulted in some hilarious episodes when she was about to give birth. Fischer recently revealed that she made the whole thing realistic with the help of her sister.

Jenna Fischer’s breakthrough in the entertainment industry was a long and painful process until she decided to take matters into her own hands. After getting frustrated with the failure to make it big, she wrote, directed and starred in the mockumentary film LolliLove. It turned out to be the only acting credit that she would ever have, but also prepared her for her role as Pam Beesly.
The Office being a mockumentary style comedy sitcom came with an upper hand for Fischer. Pam became her career defining character as she is not only widely known for her role in it but also got an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Not to mention that she also produced the ninth and final season of the show.
There is no doubt that she is an excellent actress, and one of the most important storylines that proved this was when Pam was about to give birth in the sixth season. She explained that she took her sister’s help to be able to do it naturally (via CheesyPita on YouTube).
My sister just had a baby two days ago, and so through my whole fake pregnancy, she’s been experiencing a real pregnancy. I’ve been calling her and asking her advice on how to act like a real pregnant woman.
When she shot the scenes where Pam has contractions, she asked her sister how a pregnant woman would react if she was having contractions six meters apart. Her sister advised that the woman would be uncomfortable but not screaming.
How Real Was Pam’s Relationship with Jim?
Jim and Pam are one of the best television couples if not the best. It is still couple goals for a lot of fans. Their chemistry looked so real that it was hard to believe they that the actors were not actually in love. Or maybe, they were a little.
In an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Fischer revealed the reality behind the relationship, saying (via US Weekly):
There is a real part of me that’s Pam and a real part of him that’s Jim. And those parts of us were genuinely in love with one another. But in real life we aren’t totally Pam and totally Jim. So, in real life, we aren’t the perfect match.
Fischer explained that it was a complicated situation because he was her on-screen spouse for a long time. She also stated that they will always be close due to this mutual experience that they have. That is probably one of the most beautiful things ever.
