All we know from the books is that the Witch-King is also called the Lord of the Nazgûl. During the Second and Third ages, Witch-King served Sauran and was one of his most trusted people. As far as his true identity goes, fans first believed that Theo is the one who goes on to become the Witch-King. However, a new theory has come to light that claims Witch-King is hiding in plain sight.
The character played by actor Ciarán Hinds has been mysteriously kept aloof from the series, making fans believe that the Dark Wizard is indeed the future Witch-King.
