While many fans are waiting to be introduced to the iconic villain Sauran, there are theories suggesting that the true villain for The Rings of Power season 2 is the Witch-King. The mythical creature is a lord whose real origins and identity remain unknown even in the books that are acting as the source material for the show.

All we know from the books is that the Witch-King is also called the Lord of the Nazgûl. During the Second and Third ages, Witch-King served Sauran and was one of his most trusted people. As far as his true identity goes, fans first believed that Theo is the one who goes on to become the Witch-King. However, a new theory has come to light that claims Witch-King is hiding in plain sight.
