“The world is healing”: Taylor Swift Exacts Revenge on Kim Kardashian With The Tortured Poets Department – Which Song is the Diss Track?
Taylor Swift is undoubtedly one of the most influential celebrities in the entertainment industry. Widely recognized for her contributions as a singer and songwriter to pop music, she is not only one of the world’s best-selling artists but also the highest-grossing female touring act, thanks to the Eras Tour. Not to mention that she is the first billionaire whose sole source of income is music-making.
With all the love and appreciation she gets from her devoted fans, who like to address themselves as Swifties, some hate also comes Swift’s way from time to time. One such incident was when the singer feuded with rapper Kanye West and his ex-wife reality star Kim Kardashian, which led to millions of people targeting the Blank Space singer. However, she seems to have clapped back at Kardashian with a song in her newly-released eleventh album The Tortured Poets Department.
Taylor Swift Allegedly Gets Back at Kim Kardashian in New Song
Media outlets have scrutinized Taylor Swift‘s artistry as well as her personal life since she landed in the spotlight. Over the years, from her partners to the references she has made in her songs, she has been a subject of worldwide interest.
Besides dropping Easter eggs, Swift is known for crafting songs about her personal experiences. More often than not, these songs include references to her past relationships or friendships. One subject that her songs reference every once in a while is her long-running feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
Swift recently released her eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department as a double album. As usual, eagle-eyed fans did not take too much time in spotting the subtle but obvious references in the songs and the twenty-fourth track named thanK you aIMee on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology is reportedly calling out Kardashian.
Although the song’s title itself seems to be a huge hint at this with the letters K, I, and M specifically capitalized, some of the song’s lyrics also serve as proof of this.
“And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues // And one day, your kid comes home singin’ // A song that only us two is gonna know is about you, ’cause”

Last year, North West and her mother sang along to the 2014 hit Shake it Off in a TikTok video (via Billboard). This, added to the name change referenced in the new song, makes it seem that fans might be right about this.
Taylor Swift’s Feud With Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Swift’s feud with West dates back to the Look What You Made Me Do singer’s award acceptance speech at MTV VMAs in 2009 when the rapper infamously stole the thunder by interrupting her speech to say that Beyonce deserved the award (via Rolling Stone). A lot of people came forward in Swift’s support at the time.
Things seemed to have cooled off with the Karma singer burying the hatchet with West in 2015 (via TIME). However, things took a dark turn in 2016 when West released the song Famous in which he infamously referred to the singer as a “b*tch” and claimed that he made her famous.
When Swift said that she had not been made aware of this lyric, Kim Kardashian who was married to West at the time, claimed that the Clean singer was lying. Shortly after, a call recording was leaked which suggested that Swift was lying (via Variety).
This led to netizens leaving comments with snakes on Swift’s Instagram posts. The next year, the Bad Blood singer released the album Reputation, which allegedly took several digs at the couple. Fast forward to 2020, the full call recording between West and Swift that alludes to the conversation between them regarding Famous was leaked on the internet (via Genius), revealing the truth behind the situation.
The Tortured Poets Department is available for streaming on Spotify.
