“There are some conversations…”: Jensen Ackles Claims Supernatural Season 16 in the Near Future is a Real Possibility
Supernatural is an American dark fantasy drama with 15 seasons under its belt. Created by Eric Kripke, this show truly holds a special place in pop culture history. Supernatural was the longest-running TV show on the CW due to its tremendous popularity. The series primarily follows two brothers as they hunt demons, ghosts, and monsters alongside various paranormal beings.
It is natural that CW would try to expand the success of Supernatural as much as possible. However, the two attempts at a spin-off were failures. Finally, CW landed on the prequel series The Winchesters, which explains the origin story of Sam and Dean’s parents. However, CW canceled the show in 2023 after airing only 13 episodes in 2022. So fans started wondering if this was the end of the fan-favorite show or if there was more to come.
Recently, in an interview, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles claimed that the show could be back for another season in the near future, and it has made fans across the globe giddy with hope.
Jensen Ackles gives fans hope for Supernatural season 16
In Creation Entertainment’s The Road So Far… The Road Ahead Supernatural-themed convention, which featured Ackles, Padalecki, and many other stars from the TV show (via. YouTube), one fan asked them about Sam and Dean and their reunion in heaven in the series finale. The fan also went on to request that the stars open up about the conversations the characters might be having up there and their adventures in heaven. Jensen Ackles then teased a Supernatural season coming to continue the saga even further.
“I have some ideas, and I hope that now that the writers are back, and the actors are back, that we all get together. Stay tuned on that. There are some conversations regarding that conversation that are being had.”
Although it gave fans hope, this is indeed quite early to say anything with certainty since it’s still at the talking stage. However, this is still exciting for the faithful, long-term fans of the show. The Winchesters was canceled in the midst of CW acquiring Nexstar and starting a cancellation rampage that took down many good TV shows. So, the possibility of Supernatural coming back again has all the fans pumped for their favorite show again.
