Jennifer Lopez’s fans are surprised after the singer abruptly scrapped her entire summer tour. The pop superstar said she needs to focus on family, but some rumors have it that ticket sales might be the real reason for the cancellation. The tour was planned for 30 cities across North America, starting on June 26 in Orlando and ending on August 31 in Houston.

This would have been her first tour in five years, promoting her new album This Is Me…Now and a related film. The cancellation comes after weeks of rumors about troubles in her marriage to Ben Affleck. Lopez attended the Met Gala alone in May, and as per the reports, the couple might be separated.

In a heartfelt statement on Friday, Jennifer Lopez expressed her disappointment in her On The JLo fan newsletter. The 54-year-old also promised to make it up to fans in the future.

I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…

Live Nation, the tour promoter, stated:

Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.

However, according to reports, ticket sales were low. Even the fans, too, believe so. Check out some fan reactions:

This wasn’t the first sign of trouble. The tour, Lopez’s first in five years, had already quietly lost seven dates in March. In April, it was even changed from This Is Me…Now tour to a This Is Me…Live/The Greatest Hits, hoping for a sales boost.

JLo’s Music Comeback Tour Fails to Excite Fans

Jennifer Lopez’s long break from music might be why fans weren’t excited for the tour. Her last album, A.K.A., came out way back in 2014 (almost a decade ago). Her most popular songs are even older hits like Jenny from the Block and chart-topper All I Have from the early 2000s.

Even though The Bronx native has been in the news lately with movies, staying in the music business can be tough. There are always new artists and trends, and it seems some fans might have moved on from her music.

This isn’t the only concert struggle this week. The Black Keys also canceled their tour, and some fans think their ticket prices, which were as high as $300 (as reported by Deadline), might be to blame. With everything costing more these days, people might be less willing to spend a lot of money on concert tickets.
