On Monday’s episode of Live! with Kelly and Ryan, Mark Andrew Consuelos made an appearance alongside his wife and discussed the upcoming TLC show MILF Manor, which follows eight confident and strong-minded women who leave home for the chance to find love in paradise, according to the network’s synopsis. Ripa then goes on to describe what the show is actually about, and her husband asks,

“Imagine something happened to me; let’s suppose I wasn’t in the picture anymore; what will happen?”

“Our children would expect me to die if something happened to Mark,” she said. Ripa then made a remark to the audience: “It would be extremely unlikely for him to pick up a life and move on.” The talk show host brought up a conversation she had with their daughter, Lola Consuelos, in which she expressed her thoughts on a potential future stepmother.

The Live! host recalled,

“Lola, I remember one day, um, one of her friend’s parents got divorced and the father had gotten remarried. And Lola was like, ‘Oh my gosh, can you imagine?’ And I was like, Well, that happens. Sometimes that happens. People move on.” Ripa continued, “And she was like, ‘If you and dad ever got divorced and he tried to get remarried, I would make her life a living hell.”

Consuelos laughed and added, “And you know what? I believed her.” Ripa concluded by saying,

“You mean I’m not so special that the new wife gets the same treatment as the old wife?”

Kelly Ripa and Consuelos then moved on to further discuss the upcoming show on TLC.

Then, as they were discussing the show, which premiered on TLC in January and sees mothers and their grown sons trying to find love in the same dating circle, Ripa said she doesn’t think Consuelos would ever enter an age-gap relationship. She told the audience how the titular show’s producer revealed that they are just trying to break the old stereotype that women should be able to date younger men, about which Ripa foretells,

“I’ll say it again—I’ve said it a million times. Let’s say something happens to one of us, say myself, and I’m no longer here. I’m no longer in the picture.”

“I can’t imagine you dating someone younger. Obviously, she can be younger, but not the same age as our daughter. I just can’t picture it.”

Mark Consuelos immediately responded,

“If something happened to you, I would never date again. I’d be like one of those southern Italian ladies who wears black and a veil for the rest of her life.”
