‘This is my audition for ‘Real Housewives of Monetecito’?’: After Netflix Docuseries, Meghan Markle Addresses if She’ll Appear in Another Reality Show
Things could get really spicy if Meghan Markle joins the cast of The Real Housewives. But will she or won’t she is a big question, a question which Andy Cohen finally asked her. Markle joining the cast of Beverly Hills would bring us a lot of fun. Fun that would have a lot to do with the drama she would bring. She has a lot to tell this world. The first time that she let loose in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, it shook the British royal household to its very core. The royal family definitely would be wary of her on another reality show.
A ‘Real Housewives of Montecito’ in the works?
Whether or not Meghan Markle goes on another reality show is not within the royal family’s control. It is in hers. And Andy Cohen prompted her with the question the first time he found the chance to. On the Duchess of Sussex’s podcast, Archetypes, the 54-year-old said, “I’m like, she ain’t joining the ‘Beverly Hills Housewives’ everybody, she’s Meghan Markle!”
The Suits star was more than happy to continue with the joke. She joked how she never had an idea that she could have joined the franchise. Realizing that things could well and truly change, she said, “You mean really that this is my audition for ‘Real Housewives of Montecito?’ Is this the moment?” Seemed like her wish had come true.
Meghan Markle offered an important role in the new show
Cohen seemed more than happy to accommodate her. He even said that if she were to join, they’d build “the show around you.” Markle would later go on to express her lament about not being able to act in a show. “There will be no reality show, but I think it’s so fun,” she concluded.
But she wouldn’t mind not getting a chance to star in the hit show, as she has other projects lined up. The estranged royal family members, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to feature in a docuseries that details their experience of how they were treated back in England.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry having second thoughts about their new show
There might not be an official title or premiere date yet, but it is being said that the Netflix series will air early December. But various rumors have cast doubt on the veracity of this news. It is being reported that the show has been pushed into 2023 because of the release of The Crown‘s new season.
Another reason for the delay is the couple having a disagreement with the producers about the content of the show. As a mark of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away this year, they want to cut certain parts from the series, but Netflix is not relenting. According to a Netflix source, “Harry and Meghan are having second thoughts on their own story, on their own project.”
Too late for that now though.
