The latest episode of Titans continued the plot of fracturing the heroes further after the truth about Deathstroke’s son Jericho was revealed to everyone. Grayson still holds himself responsible for what happened with Jericho. But we know that it was Slade Wilson who killed him. But that’s not the end. Deathstroke is haunting the Titans even more now.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Titans showrunner Greg Walker said regarding Deathstroke’s involvement with the team that:

“Both the Titans history to the books and Titans history from what we think happened during the intermitting years between when the Titans first formed, when they broke up, and the present [play into Season 2]. So there’s a lot of backstory that gets revealed that was lurking in the shadows last season.”

Dick Grayson is now isolated by everyone except Beastboy and Superboy (who is currently hospitalized after being shot with kryptonite bullets). Now Grayson has decided to leave his post as the leader of the Titans so that he can’t hurt the people he loves. This is due to his confrontation with Deathstroke who tells him that he will hunt down his friends and allies if he rebuilds the Titans ever again.

So he decides to assault some police officers, as a result of which he was taken into custody. In jail he revealed that everyone he loves gets hurt, so it’s better for him to stay away from the people he loves. But Grayson cannot keep his heroic self from showing as he aids a few prisoners escape while knowing full well that they’re being targeted by both inmates and the law enforcement for their immigration status.

But with just a few episodes left, right now its hard to imagine how the heroes will band together again to face their enemy.

New episodes of Titans premiere on Fridays on DC Universe.
