“Toei would never”: Dragon Ball Fans Have a Field Day as Cringeworthy Scene From Boruto Makes Every Naruto Fan Weep
The Naruto series is one of the most popular and influential manga and anime series worldwide. Known for its incredible characters, story writing, and fight scenes. However, the sequel to Naruto, Boruto, is yet to live up to all the hype generated by the original show.
Studio Pierrot has also come under fire for their lazy work in animating a fight scene in Boruto. This clip made its rounds on social media and the fans on X were definitely not cutting the anime and the animation studio any slack.
Anime fans take aim at Boruto‘s horrendous fight scene on X
Boruto has gotten quite a lot of criticism for its lazy writing and animation sequences over the past few years. Though not always, but the series has put out some episodes that have just been disappointing to watch. A clip of one of those episodes started making its rounds on X. Unfortunately, for Naruto and Boruto fans, it was next to impossible to defend their show.
The horrendous fight scene between Boruto and Kawaki that was posted on X started triggering some comments on the social media platform. And anime fans certainly hold back with their critiques on the fight scene. Here are a few comments on what the fans had to say about the disappointing work from Studio Pierrot with Boruto.

Despite the Boruto fans tanking the comments for the horrendous fight scene, the Dragon Ball fandom was having a field trip dishing out the criticism.

However, it wouldn’t be fair to judge the show from just this clip, as Boruto has also given fans quite a lot of amazing fight scenes. But given that this was the scenario of Boruto for quite a while, it’s not surprising to see the manga being wildly more popular than the anime adaptation. But there are other factors that come into play for the series not being able to reach its audience.
Reasons why Boruto can’t connect to the fans as its predecessor
Naruto’s story had quite a lot of themes such as perseverance, friendship, and hard work, and somehow managed to pair them in epic battles and emotional moments. Boruto, on the other hand, is set in a peaceful era and can feel less urgent in comparison to its predecessor. Some fans miss the high-stakes tension and character growth that defined Naruto for what it was.
The long stretches of filler episodes and stories that are not directly related to the main plot can be frustrating for fans who are keen on seeing the core story progress. Boruto has had more than its fair share of filler, which some fans feel disrupts the interest in the series.
The power structure in Naruto revolved around chakra and ninjutsu. However, Boruto introduces scientific ninja tools and aliens, which some fans believe to be a dilution of the core concepts that made Naruto’s battles so engaging.
You can stream Boruto on Crunchyroll.
