Tom Cruise Might Have Hinted Mission Impossible Retirement After Going Back to WB That Gave Him His Hollywood Breakout Role

The latest instalment of the superhit franchise was Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One which did not do as well as people hoped at the box office.

Tom Cruise’s Latest Deal With Warner Bros. Discovery
In recent news, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced a deal with Tom Cruise that outlines a collaboration to make theatrical films starring the actor. The strategic partnership comes as a breath of fresh air as people want to see some new content grace the theatre screens. Moreover, seeing Cruise in more versatile roles apart from action and thriller will also be a delight.
The co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Discovery Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are doing everything in their power to reboot the production studio. While the deal does not prohibit Cruise from working on more movies with other production houses, Warner Bros. does expect the actor to make blockbuster flicks that could even have sequels in the future. They released a statement that read,

Our vision, from day one, has been to rebuild this iconic studio to the heights of its glory days, and, in fact, when we first sat down with [Warner Bros. Discovery chief] David Zaslav to talk about joining the Warner Bros. Discovery team, he said to us, ‘We are on a mission to bring Warner Bros. back – we have the best resources, storytelling IP, and talent in the business – and we need to bring Tom Cruise back to Warner Bros!’ Today, that becomes a reality and we are one step closer to achieving our ambition. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros. and look forward to bringing more of his genius to life on screen in the years ahead.”
Cruise being back to the studio that gave him his rise to fame is poetic. From Risky Business where Cruise outshone other young artists to become one of the most sought-after actors in the industry, to now signing a multi-movie deal, Cruise and Warner Bros.’ relationship has come a long way.

Currently, Cruise is working on the next instalment of Mission Impossible which is under the Paramount banner. His schedule also has a movie by director Doug Liman which will feature action and space shots.
After successfully running MGM, De Luca and Abdy made their way to Warner Bros. Discovery after considering offers from various studios. The duo is well on its way to revamping the studio and making original and franchise-worthy movies to increase the tout of the production house in the industry. Apart from movies with Cruise, they are also developing movies with high-profile actors including Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway.
