“Harrison Ford is a legend; I hope to still be going. I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him. I hope to keep making ‘Mission: Impossible’ films until I’m his age.”

Harrison Ford, who is now 81 years old, is a part of the Indiana Jones franchise and wrapped up his tenure with the franchise by appearing in the fifth installment of the movie Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which was released a few weeks before Dead Reckoning was released. Tom Cruise is now working on the second part of Dead Reckoning.

Harrison Ford has no plans to retire from acting

Even though the actor has decided to say goodbye to his fan-favorite character Indiana Jones from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, he has no plans to stop working. He said back in June via Variety,

“I don’t do well when I don’t have work. I love to work. I love to feel useful. It’s my Jones. I want to be helpful… and it’s the people you get to work with. The intensity and the intimacy of collaboration. It’s the combined ambition somehow forged from words on a page. I don’t plan what I want to do in a scene. I don’t feel obliged to do anything. I’m naturally affected by things that I work on.”

Talking about the movie, he said he wanted the fifth part to be character-driven and he wanted the makers to confront the question of age straight on. He didn’t want to hide his age, instead, he wanted the makers to take advantage of it while telling the story.

Kevin Feige reveals why Tom Cruise did not play Iron Man

It has been known that Cruise was once being considered for the role of Iron Man, which eventually went to Robert Downey Jr. But now Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed in the book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios why didn’t the audience get to see Cruise as Tony Stark?

According to Cinema Blend, the book reads;

“Ten years earlier, when the Iron Man rights were at 20th Century Fox, Tom Cruise, then thirty-four, had flirted with the idea of playing Stark. According to Feige, however, Cruise’s asking fee at the time was more than even a profitable studio like Fox was willing to risk on an untested superhero property.”

But looking back, the fans cannot imagine anyone else other than Robert Downey Jr. playing the character of Tony Stark and, at the same time as Cruise had expressed his desire to play Iron Man, he became the star of Mission Impossible.
