But do you know what does this means? 

Well, Elf on the Shelf is a tradition during Christmas time that involves toy elves being put down around the house during December to keep an eye on the kids’ whether they are being nice or are they being naughty. 

So as December has already arrived and Christmas is right behind the corner, and there’s still a lot going on out there, we thought why not bring some fun and happiness in the lives of Animated Times subscribers.

What really does Elf on the Shelf means?

This idea was first introduced in 2005 by Carol Aebersold and her daughter Chanda Bell as a US children’s book. 

The Elf on the Shelf incident captured a massive amount of popularity in the UK as well as many parts of the world. 

In their book, Carol and her daughter explained that the magical Scout Elves help Santa Claus manage his nice list by taking note of the family’s Xmas experiences and taking it back to Santa at the North Pole. 

Then every morning, these Scout Elves return to the families, and they settle themselves in a new spot, waiting and noting unless they are spotted. 

This activity also shows parents, grandparents, and even guardians to either wake up a little early or stay up a little late when the kids have gone to bed to place the Elf in some different area or room as a sort of pranks. 

This Elf on the Shelf activity is a favorite in various households. 

It keeps the children busy searching for their Scout Elf every morning.
