After 26 years of togetherness, partners fall into sync with each other and help each other through ups and downs. However, the loss of a child can shake up a marriage unlike anything else. In 2016, the Ramsays became pregnant with a child they named Rocky. At 20 weeks, the child was born with a very strong heartbeat and couldn’t survive. The parents were left heartbroken at such a loss and thought they would never be able to cope. Gordon Ramsay expressed in an interview with People,

“There’s no book that guides you through that loss, and so losing Rocky was really tough. Watching the trauma unfold, it’s this life-changing moment. We wouldn’t have had Oscar had we not lost Rocky. There was no substitute — far from it — but it brought us a bond that you’d never experience in a normal situation.”

The couple has five other children – Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, daughter Matilda (“Tilly”), 21, and son Oscar, 4. The entire family mourned the loss of their young sibling. Eventually, the tragedy only brought the family closer as they were able to share their grief and lend a hand of support through it all.

Especially the mother has to endure the immense pain of first carrying the child and then not being able to see him have a good life. Gordon Ramsay adds, “That’s the power of Tana. Just watching the way that she dealt with it — and opened up with other friends and women in close proximity that could give advice — she was incredible straight after that.”
