Sam Asghari, the spouse of Britney Spears, has submitted divorce papers to end their marriage. This move comes approximately 14 months after their wedding and was reported on Wednesday evening.
Having first crossed paths on the set of Spears' "Slumber Party" music video shoot in 2016, the pair tied the knot in June 2022.
"Sam has been Britney's rock for years. He makes sure that she eats well and works out," The source says about Spears' boyfriend at the time.
Another source informed ET that Spears and Asghari "have had issues on and off as a couple since before they were married."
The insider further added, "Their challenges seem to intensify during periods of separation, when they are apart. Britney sometimes experiences the sensation of not being a top priority for Sam on certain occasions."
"They also diverge in their visions for their future as a couple, creating a notable source of disagreement between them." The source continued.
