Barbie's reign at the box office continues as it surpasses Transformers: Dark of the Moon to become the top-grossing movie adapted from a toy.
With a remarkable global sum of $1.183 billion, Barbie has now secured its place as the 25th highest-earning film in history.
Barbie has gone beyond even Michael Bay's Transformers: Dark of the Moon and its follow-up, Transformers: Age of Extinction, to claim the title of the highest-earning film derived from a toy.
Even during its fourth weekend, the film continues to be shown in 4,178 theaters and has successfully accumulated an impressive $10 million on Friday, reflecting a 38% decline from the previous week.
The movie's current total has reached an impressive $526.3 million, and it is on track to easily surpass The Super Mario Bros. Movie's earnings of $574.2 million in the upcoming days.
It's strong performance is accompanied by a social media trend called "Barbenheimer," which refers to the simultaneous release of both Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.
