The dramatic weight loss of Kim and Khloe Kardashian and other celebrities has been rumoured to be the work of an injectable drug, Ozempic, that’s been called ‘Hollywood’s worst kept secret’.
The Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve glycemic control, has made headlines due to various Hollywood stars allegedly using it to quickly shed pounds.
With over millions of views on TikTok, the drug has quickly become popular in the last year. The off-label use of Ozempic has caused a shortage worldwide, The Guardian reported.
“I don’t want to try Ozempic because, honestly, I’ve heard about so many bad side effects,” Mama June,the reality star said during an interview with the Daily Mail in May 2023.
Chelsea Handler claimed that her doctor told her the medicine was good to use if she wanted “to drop five pounds.”
Ana Navarro addressed that she's been using Ozempic after sharing Instagram photos in May 2023 from a trip to Colombia.
Khloe Kardashian has shut down allegations that she or any of her sisters have used the medication to lose weight.
A recent report by Bloomberg noted that patients in Southern California who suffered from diabetes had trouble filling their prescription for Ozempic.
