During their appearance on the special segment of Variety, the actor duo had spoken about adulthood and the impact of social media on life. While talking about how the number of followers on social media affects the actor’s professional career, Jenna Ortega went on to mention-

Jenna Ortega even spoke about her sarcastic behavior and how easily it can be misinterpreted by social media.

“Because I naturally tend to be sarcastic or dry, it’s very easy for me to find myself in trouble. I want people to be able to get to know the people behind the camera and realize that people should never be put on a pedestal.”

Both Jenna Ortega and Elle Fanning think that social media can be a tricky platform as people are maximum times misunderstood and misinterpreted instead of being understood.

Jenna Ortega Never Wanted To Be A People Pleaser

Netflix’s Wednesday was an instant hit. It was based on the 1991 release of The Addams Family. The titular role was played by the 20-year-old American actor Jenna Ortega. Recently, during a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor confessed how she had to speak up for the alterations that were required for her role. Jenna Ortega mentioned-

“I think that because I’m someone who is very opinionated or because I know what it’s like to be a people pleaser in this industry, and I know how unhappy or how frustrating it’s been in the past. When I went into Wednesday, I really put my foot down and made it clear that everything that I had to say mattered and was heard.”

She went on to talk about the times when she was underestimated for her ideas in the entertainment industry. Jenna Ortega confessed-

“I’ve had experiences in TV where I felt my voice wasn’t heard, that I was meant to be a puppet. I’ve been told on sets, ‘You wouldn’t know because you’re not a writer,’ or, ‘Just shut up and do your job.’ From 12 years old, I’ve been hearing things like that,” 

Jenna Ortega made headlines when she revealed that she would change the script lines of Wednesday. Her decision was she was criticized by the critics, but a few supported her too.
