“We’ve shot half the movie”: ‘Stingy’ Disney Endangering Deadpool 3 Release Date by Refusing to Pay Fair Money to Actors
The upcoming Deadpool 3 starring the incredible duo of Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has already garnered high anticipation, and Disney might make enthusiasts wait longer.
Deadpool and Wolverine enthusiasts are already anticipating Shawn Levy’s Deadpool 3, but now the director himself is unsure when the movie will hit theatres as Disney is unwilling to spend a reasonable amount of money on the film’s contribution. This has put the release date of Ryan Reynolds’s movie in jeopardy and fans are not favoring this.
Financial Dispute With Disney Puts Deadpool 3 Release Date in Jeopardy
Disney which is undeniably one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world is upsetting Deadpool enthusiasts. The company owns the rights to Deadpool after acquiring the 20th Century Fox and its financial dispute of not paying fair money to the movie’s actors is endangering the release date.
The director Shawn Levy revealed that he’s unsure if Deadpool 3 will make up for its planned release date of May 3, 2024. In an interview with TheWrap, the director shared that he’s written and edited half of his film but is still ambivalent about the exact release date. He said:
“I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3,” Levy said of the superhero sequel, which stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. “
Levy expressed the uncertainty surrounding Deadpool 3 which stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds sharing the screen for the first time in their iconic characters. Levy added:
“Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”
Levy concluded his statement on Deadpool 3 in the interview by stating that the uncertainties surrounding the project are negatively affecting the film’s production timeline.
When Will Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool 3 Hit Theatres
In a post shared by DiscussingFilm on X that claims that Disney is being stingy in paying its actors a fair amount of money, fans doubt that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s project might get delayed till 2025 and Deadpool enthusiasts couldn’t hold back their frustration on Disney for affecting the production timeline as the comment section shows:
