This normal moment shows how close actors can get on set, even when they’re working on a big project. But the real magic for Esfandi happened when he saw Christensen perform a scene. Watching the 43-year-old become the iconic character stirred up strong emotions in the Laredo native. He said at the event (via Agents of Fandom):

“I’m sleepy, I’m loopy, it’s 3am and I’m talking to Hayden Christensen about Tennis and Fruit Snacks. Then, Hayden steps up for his scene and I got emotional. What am I now apart of? This is Star Wars! THE Star Wars!”

The 27-year-old got really emotional when he watched the Canadian star act out a scene as Anakin Skywalker. It made him realize how amazing it was to be part of the Star Wars universe.

Though Eman Esfandi didn’t film any scenes with Hayden Christensen for Ahsoka, he shared with The Hollywood Reporter his first encounter with The Chosen One.

The Red 11 star confessed that he hadn’t watched the prequels before working on Ahsoka but saw Christensen during stunt rehearsals at Manhattan Beach Studios in Los Angeles. Esfandi described Anakin Skywalker actor as “statuesque” and “massive,” practicing challenging choreography for the series. He said:

“My most interesting encounter was when I was first getting to my stunt rehearsals. I just heard two people going crazy with some choreography. You could hear their sticks and their steps. And I was like, “Whoa!” It was an explosion of choreography that was a minute long, and when I turned to look around, there was this massive, statuesque man in a gray shirt. I didn’t recognize him off the top of my head. So I went over to watch these guys spar up close, and then I realized it was Hayden Christensen. He’s huge. He’s a towering presence, and he’s so good at this.”

Esfandi also praised the Jumper star’s lightsaber skills and wanted to look just as sharp as him in his fight scenes.
