We’re used to seeing Jackman with his signature short, cropped hair. But it turns out, the Wolverine actor once had a mane that would make any shampoo commercial envious. In 2003, while promoting the X-Men sequel, the star chose to grow out his hair and let it flow freely for his Van Helsing role.

However, the long-haired style didn’t last long. The next year, he cut it off and went back to his well-known look (via GQ). This makes the recent throwback photo even more surprising.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, when presented with the image of Jackman’s long hair, the reactions from his co-star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy were nothing short of hilarious. A stunned Jackman exclaimed:

Reynolds, ever the quick-witted comedian, quipped:

The comparison was spot on, as Jackman’s long hair and youthful look closely resembled a heartthrob from a famous boy band. When asked what superpower he might have, Reynolds joked, “Locking in moisture.” “Magnificence,” said Levy.

Not just Hugh Jackman, but Ryan Reynolds has also been spotted with long hair. In early 2024, leaked photos showed both actors in action, with one image featuring Reynolds sporting a samurai-style haircut. He was seen in his Deadpool suit, complete with long hair and a top knot.

Since Deadpool is usually known for his burnt and scarred look, fans were curious if there’s a new long-haired Deadpool in the film. They started calling this variant the “samurai Deadpool,” but the film names him Nicepool. This version of Deadpool owns Dogpool and helps the main Deadpool and Wolverine on their adventure through the Void.
