The grand finale of Demon Slayer, the Infinity Castle Arc, will be adapted into a trilogy of movies, according to leaked information by the Jump Victory Carnival’s website. This is hardly shocking, given that Ufotable, the producing studio behind Demon Slayer, was the first to turn manga storylines into feature-length motion pictures.

Jump Victory Carnival is an annual event held in Chiba, near Tokyo, that celebrates all the popular series published in Shueisha’s primary magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump (but also those that appear in V-Jump).

Demon Slayer Fans Express Disappointment Over The News

According to @DemonSlayerSc on X, an independent account that shares news about the Demon Slayer world, the “visitors giveaways” section of Jump Victory Carnival’s website revealed that the Infinity Castle Arc of Demon Slayer will be animated as a movie trilogy.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is currently holding the record for the highest-grossing anime movie. Since then, two films in the franchise have returned to theaters: To the Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training.

However, both films were largely recaps of earlier anime series episodes meant to ease audiences into the upcoming season. But for fans of Demon Slayer, this would be an entirely different experience if the Infinity Castle Arc is going to be a trilogy of films.

Even though the anime eventually told an expanded account of the Mugen Train events, that was just one film. It would not make any sense to produce three different movies to have the same content appear later in the show. Moreover, the availability of the movie might become a huge issue for the franchise.

Not all countries release anime movies in theaters. For instance, when the Haikyuu movie was released, even the United States faced a significant delay. The international release date remained unannounced for months, making the content less accessible. This lack of availability can lead to increased piracy rates, which is a persistent issue the anime industry has been striving to reduce.

This trilogy will probably be the fitting finale to the Demon Slayer series, and soon after their theatrical debut, the films will probably be accessible on Crunchyroll and other streaming services. The Demon Slayer corps and the sinister Muzan and his demons will square off in the climactic battle of the Infinity Castle Arc as the latter plans a preemptive attack to seize Nezuko and her resistance to sunlight.

The fight scenes will be the most thrilling and dramatic of the entire series, as the strongest Upper Moons demonstrate their might against the Hashira, who have yet to engage in combat.

More information regarding Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle Arc is presumably going to be disclosed on July 21, 2024, during the Jump Victory Carnival event, even though this information is currently unconfirmed.
