What TVA Was Doing During Spider-Man: No Way Home
In December 2021, Sony Pictures released Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie became the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie of all time, by bringing in $1.6 billion at the box office worldwide. Although this was a blessing for Sony, it also sparked an opinion among fans that have followed the MCU. Many believed that seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home was disappointing because of TVA’s (Time Variance Authority) absence during the multiversal breach.
Why TVA Didn’t Show Up To Stop Spider-Man And The Villains From Entering The Sacred Timeline
Disney+ announced the launch of Loki on June 9, 2021 – a new original series based on the character from Marvel Studios’ blockbuster films. Consisting of eight episodes, Loki introduces viewers to the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a law enforcement agency tasked with ensuring that all things remain exactly as they were in the real world and shows them the reality-altering repercussions when that line is crossed. The officers of the TVA tracks down dangerous people ensure they don’t pose any threat to the main timeline and protect themselves from alterations to their own pasts.
The main thing to keep in mind here is the ending of Loki. The main villain of the story, Loki, was placed into a jail that seemed to be run by Kang the Conquerer’s variant. As nobody remembered about the main protagonist or anything concerning her escape, it seems that the other three Time Keepers had been disguising themselves as her friends. This bogus prognosis confounded the timeline so much that they tried to fix it by hitting any temporal disruption they could find with their Infinity swords until they were forced to end at the end of time. So, maybe NWH wasn’t considered worthy of a nexus event due to its low key status?
Spider-Man: No Way Home Was Always There And Meant To Happen
In the courtroom scene, Loki uses the Time Heist feats of mischief committed by the Avengers to persuade Judge Renslayer. But there is a clear parallel between this case and No Way Home as well – because even though it was an accident, Spider-Man: No Way Home also happens because of some pretty heavy-duty meddling with the space/time continuum. This brings us to our conclusion that NWH was always supposed to happen – regardless of how it’s been hyped in recent months.
We know that Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man has gone through a lot. There are few people whose lives have been turned upside down and inside out so many times more than his. However, it wasn’t until May died that he finally fulfilled his destiny and became the lone web-slinger.
Fans have been noting that the MCU has not done enough to connect the plots of their shows. This isn’t a serious concern. Because we all know that there is Doctor Strange who will be coming to settle this dilemma once and for all. Now that both these projects are connected through The Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange will solve this problem or make it worse—who knows? That’s what makes it fun!
