Why Avatar Theory Claiming Sokka is the Father of Toph’s Daughter Makes Zero Sense
Rumors always create suspicious situations and even Sokka couldn’t escape it. However, Sokka’s trait itself advocates for him in such situations. Son of Chief Hakoda and Kya, Sokka is a popular character in Nickelodeon’s animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel series The Legend of Korra.
The fictional character was famous for being a Water Tribe warrior of the Southern Water Tribe. The character also goes by the nickname of Captain Boomerang. Following the death of his parents, Sokka was raised by Kanna(his grandmother) and he went on to become a great warrior like his father. However, a rumor raises a bizarre question about Sokka that’s pretty absurd.
Sokka Being the Father of Toph’s Daughter Doesn’t Add Up
Sokka was a character in Avatar who was recognized for being intelligent, yet funny and immature on various occasions. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Sokka was indeed the comic relief of the group. With growing age, he became a master swordsman and a capable warrior. Despite these facts, however, a few rumors also run hand in hand about Sokka being the father of Toph’s daughter.
Toph is another fictional character who, just like Sokka, has appeared in Nickelodeon’s animated television series Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino’s Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Some fans think that as shown in the original series, Toph had an infatuation for Sokka and that’s why, he may be the father of her daughter.

However, there’s absolutely no canon evidence that can prove this fanmade claim. In fact, considering Sokka’s character, it is impossible that he had a child all this time and was absent as a father. Basically, this rumor is merely a theory that has no concrete evidence backing it up.
Toph’s Personal Life Remains a Mystery
Toph is a popular female character of Avatar who is known for her unique style of earthbending that is inspired by badger moles. However, it is interesting to note that initially Toph was supposed to be an athletic and muscular 16-year-old boy who would be a foil to Sokka. Anyways, Toph’s personal life has always been a mystery, rather confusing.
Toph has two children named Suyin Beifong and Lin Beifong. However, both her children are deprived of their paternal identity. No one exactly knows who Toph’s husband is. Apparently, her children are the result of wedlock. There’s just one thing clear Lin Beifong is probably the daughter of Toph and Kanto.
Before 120 AG, Toph was in a romantic relationship with Kanto and Lin came into the world. Although Kanto has been referred to as a nice man, Toph didn’t continue her relationship with him nor did she ever introduce him to her daughter.
