“Whenever I just have this gut feeling that I need to say something, I do. I never overthink it, I never second-guess myself. With the body-shaming issue, I felt really sad and icky about it and I knew I had to say something and I’m so happy that I did.”
There have been women who have had to face this issue throughout their lives. These women have gone through mental stress and trauma due to the implications of having a body that does not meet the norm beauty standards. The fact that she is one to express her views on this just goes to show that it is not the model who has created this mentality. She felt cheated by the title, feeling that Angelina Jolie is more deserving. The influencer never expected to be the “Sexiest Woman Alive“, let alone get such a massive following out of it.
“It’s so funny, my manager called me and she’s like, ‘You’re never going to believe this, but Maxim wants you to do the cover,’ and at first, it didn’t quite sink in, and then I called her back and I’m like, ‘Wait, does that mean I’m no.1, I made it?’ Even up to when we did the photo shoot when the magazine came out, I’m like, I’m still in disbelief that this actually happened. It’s such an honor and I still, to this day, I look at the magazine and I’m like, ‘That’s not me, I can’t believe this happened.'”
The golfer has always been one to keep in shape for her to “look good“. However, things have changed after a busload of comments called her “fat” in her recent Instagram posts. Even though the influencer has stated her disbelief about having such a title attached to her name, she still values her body for being in such a great condition.
