The rumors around Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam sequel is doing the rounds of the entertainment world. However, there has been no update on the DC-based superhero movie. Recently, the Fast And Furious actor made an appearance in the Peacock-backed talk show hosted by actor Kevin Hart, Hart To Hart.

Dwayne Johnson On Being Called Out By Kevin Hart For Not Getting Into NFL

Dwayne Johnson was present at Hart To Hart, hosted by the Rush Hour actor Kevin Hart. During the conversation, the actor was asked about whether the Black Adam sequel would be coming to fruition or not. He mentioned the superhero studio and said-

“As business-minded people, you and I, who are always thinking ‘audience first,’ yes we look at and respect the bottom line economically, but also when you think about opportunity and creating opportunity and creating things that are fresh for our audience – which is our number one boss – when that wasn’t looked at through that lens, it makes things a little more challenging for guys like you and I.”

While comparing the entire matter with sports, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart just got into a casual verbal altercation. The Moana star said-

“You know what it is? It’s like new ownership coming in and buying an NFL team going, “Alright. Not my head coach. Not my quarterback. Doesn’t matter how many times we won the Super Bowl. Doesn’t matter how many rings we got. I’m going with somebody else. Like I want to win a Superbowl, a defense MVP, none of that happened,

Kevin Hart chipped in and said,- “Yeah, it did not happen. No, I am saying none of that. Absolutely not, one of those things happened.” To which the wrestler-turned-actor replied – “No Superbowl, No All-Pro, No defensive play.” As Kevin Hart went on to inquire about the root of all the unsuccessful ventures of the actor, Dwayne Johnson pointed out- “So like here’s the thing, you don’t have to  underscore it like that.”

Despite trying hard, Dwayne Johnson could not become a part NFL. He signed in with the Calgary Stampeders before being removed in his first season.

Dwayne Johnson On The Future Of Black Adam’s Sequel

During an appearance at the Hart To Hart, Dwayne Johnson was asked about the sequel of his movie Black Adam. The actor clearly pointed out how the filming of the next chapter did not take place due to the new leadership at DC. He mentioned-

“Black Adam got caught in a vortex of new leadership. And at that time, as we were creating Black Adam, developing it, and shooting Black Adam … it was so many changes in leadership. And as you know, anytime you have a company, but especially that size and magnitude that’s a publicly traded company, and you have all those changes in leadership, you have people coming in who, creatively and fiscally, are going to make decisions that you may not agree with.”

He further explained how the filming of the movie got caught in the web of leadership. He said-

“You have the biggest opening of your career. Sure, no China, that could’ve been maybe 100, maybe 200 million more dollars,” he added. “You’re establishing a new superhero and you want to grow out the franchise. You bring back Superman and Henry Cavill – the world went crazy. … We created a diverse superhero portfolio, where we have just men and women of color in Black Adam 2 as well.”

In December 2022, Dwayne Johnson announced that Black Adam’s sequel would be resumed soon but down the line almost after a couple of months, uncertainty still looms of the second chapter of the superhero movie.

Black Adam is currently available on Amazon Prime.
