Matt Smith was not even planning to be an actor when he started acting. Instead, he wanted to become a professional footballer, but his plans got ruined after an injury. He began appearing in plays and TV shows and his first major TV role came in the television series Party Animals.

In 2010, he landed the role of the Eleventh Doctor in the BBC series Doctor Who, which made him the youngest actor to have portrayed the character. He succeeded David Tennant and was relatively unknown in comparison to the other actors who were speculated to take the role.

In a recent interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Smith revealed that he was once an aspiring DJ. When Fallon brought up the fact that he had heard that the actor used rap to memorize dialogue, The Patient Zero star confirmed it, saying:

When I was doing ‘Doctor Who,’ you know, because the lines are so mad and it’s like you’re talking about things like perception filters and, like, all these mad things, and you have to learn it really quickly. And I learn things rhythmically. So, yeah, I would just rap them.

Smith claimed that he was a huge fan of rap music and loved musicians like Biggie, Nas, and Pac. He revealed that he is currently working on a project named The Death of Bunny Monro, in which his character is an orator, so he used his rap technique to learn the lines of his latest character as well.

Smith is returning as Daemon Targaryen in the second season of House of the Dragon. Fans on the internet love the character and often compare him to Game of Thrones star Kit Harington who appeared as Jon Snow in the series.

When asked who would win in a fight between Jon and Daemon, the Lost River actor’s answer was very clear.

Who would win in a fight between Jon Snow and- Mate, I’ve got a dragon. Listen, I have a lot of respect… I have a lot of respect for Jon Snow. Hey, Jon Snow is a bad boy. Don’t get me wrong. Kit Harington — lovely man, lovely guy. I have a lot of respect. But don’t get it twisted. I would f**k those [Stark] brothers up, mate.

Unfortunately, viewers might never find out who would actually win in the fight because Jon and Daemon’s stories are set decades apart. The best that can be done is watching Daemon in the second season of the prequel series.
