Both Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks have played some very legendary characters over the years. While Streep has been seen in the likes of Mamma Mia! and Don’t Look Up, Hanks has been seen in Forrest Gump and Catch Me If You Can. During a visit to The Ellen Show, the two actors were challenged to attempt to act as the characters they had played in the past. 

As they smashed this challenge in the dazzling display of their acting, both Streep and Hank showed why they were among the greatest talents of Hollywood. While mimicking the characters, Streep played an amazing role, but she embarrassed Hanks as she screamed, “You’re a toy” from Toy Story on the show, as they were there to promote the movie The Post

After their response to the question put up by DeGeneres about Hanks and Streep’s favorite roles from their long list of brilliant movies, Streep got a task to re-enact a scene from the classic Forrest Gump. While quoting the line “Life is like a box of chocolates,” Streep hit it right in the head while she mimicked the mannerisms of Hanks.

Following it, Hanks was to enact a quote by the character of Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. In the hilarious moment of the act, Hank was able to deliver the performance, which drew a breathless response in between the laughs. While it continued, DeGeneres was seen enjoying the complete challenge.

The Challenge was Leveled Up

The host then took this challenge a step ahead and dished out props to the two of them. She gave a woody hat from Toy Story to Streep, and she went to re-enact and nail the character of Hanks in Toy Story. Her voice was quite convincing, and so were her mannerisms. It matched with Woody’s voice and ways.

Tom Hanks was quite embarrassed by this. However, he was quite amused by the antics of Streep, too. Hanks, on the other hand, got equipped with the brown fluffy wig from The Iron Lady to re-enact Margaret Thatcher. He did roar up the script lines and put forward a perfect display.

Later, Meryl Streep was presented with a seat in the crowd, too. It had her name on it. Hanks already had his seat in the crowd in his name. Seeing Streep’s seat, Hanks jokingly said,

“So Meryl’s seat is in front of my seat. So she has a better seat. Can I just point out that behind every successful woman, sits a loudmouthed wisecracking guy.”

The complete thing was quite funny. It was also a good reminder that even some of the most serious of the actors could have a good time and that they let loose at times. So, while fans wait for more amazing movies and such get-togethers during interviews and on-stage, they can continue to enjoy some of the great works of Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks.
