Snyder has since moved on to more diverse and varied projects including Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead. More recently, he even released a director’s cut of the first Rebel Moon film that managed to take the viewers’ breath away.

Visionary director Zack Snyder has a lot of ideas brewing in his mind. From creative quests in space to superhero missions that instill excitement in fans, Snyder knows how to get his fans thrilled for more projects. His recent release Rebel Moon’s director cut gave fans an insight into what he truly envisioned for the story as a whole. However, it failed to impress the fans since the audience rated it only 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Moreover, the director spoke to The Hollywood Handle about more ventures related to the Rebel Moon IP including a spin-off comic book and an animated movie centered around the character Kali. If that wasn’t enough, there seems to be a Rebel Moon mobile game in the works too. Nevertheless, the animated Kali movie is the closest in the timeline. Talking about the same, Snyder mentioned,

I think it’d be probably more 2025. We’re still sort of in prep. We’re doing a lot of creative meetings with the animation team for that. There’s really a lot of beautiful artwork and stuff that we’re generating right now. At the end of the summer here, we’re supposed to put all our creative stuff together and see how we’re doing.

Along with the Rebel Moon game, Snyder has his hands in many pies currently. The abovementioned projects will soon fructify into successful ventures that will consolidate Snyder’s position as one of the leading directors of today. According to the first installment in the possible franchise, Kalies are beings that can power the Motherworld’s technology. The Kalies appeared briefly in the movie so the animated spinoff is set to give fans a clearer insight into their world.

In the same interview, the publication asked Snyder to answer some fan questions that have been asked repeatedly. Snyder was more than happy to tackle these questions that led him to put his views forward. One particular question was about his favorite scene to film for Rebel Moon, to which Snyder replied,

Kora fighting the guys in the barn, killing all the Imperial guys in the barn. That felt old school. It was like old school fighting and shooting and really just going, you know, shot to shot and really telling that story was really fun. And I can’t wait for you to see the R-rated version of it.

Rebel Moon offers a fresh take on space tyrannical societies and a hero’s quest to save his universe. Much like Star Wars, the Rebel Moon franchise features suspense, thrill, action, and a whole lot of sequences in space. The second part of the series furthered the stories, enabling fans to get a taste of the overall narrative.

The entire Rebel Moon franchise along with Director’s Cuts are streaming on Netflix.
