The firestorm between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is far from over, even as Champagne Papi faces legal issues stemming from the feud. The two are once again exchanging verbal blows in the rap world, and tensions are escalating by the day. It all began with Lamar’s track Like That, and Drake has since responded with Push Ups and Taylor Made Freestyle.

OVO’s last track featured AI-generated vocals meant to sound like 2Pac, which didn’t sit well with the late rapper’s estate, prompting them to threaten Drake with a lawsuit. Consequently, he took the song down from his social media platforms. However, on April 30th, Lamar released a diss track aimed straight at the Canadian rapper.

Kendrick Lamar dropped a surprise diss track titled Euphoria, taking aim at Drake, and rap fans couldn’t resist checking it out on social media. A noteworthy aspect of Euphoria is that Aubrey Graham himself is one of the executive producers of the HBO series bearing the same title.

The song starts with the gentle tone, and it’s not until the final lines of the first verse that K-Dot directly addresses Drake. He raps: “Know you a master manipulator and habitual liar, too/But don’t tell no lie ’bout me, and I won’t tell truths ’bout you.”

This track serves as Lamar’s official response to Drake’s Push Ups, which debuted at No. 2 on this week’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (via Billboard). Fans are eagerly searching for every hidden meaning behind the lyrics they can find. But what’s really got everyone talking even more is Drake’s response to it.

DJ Akademiks has been the go-between for Drake’s messages in this battle. He’s been sharing the 37-year-old’s thoughts on Kendrick Lamar and his eagerness to settle things after “10 years” of waiting. During his live stream on April 30th, Akademiks dropped a bombshell.

He revealed a text conversation with Drake where the One Dance star said, “I’m energized by the elimination of Drake” with laughing emojis (seems to be his way of revert). This is a nod to a recent interview where Kanye West claimed he’s teaming up with other rappers to take Drake down (via Billboard). Drizzy then left Akademiks and the fans with a cryptic message: “See you soon.”

This ongoing feud goes beyond just clever insults. Both rappers are targeting each other’s careers and musical styles since so long. The Toronto native (known for his catchy songs and smooth delivery) is being teased by Lamar for being too mainstream.

On the other hand, the Money Trees singer (famous for his meaningful lyrics) is being criticized by Drake for supposedly using “ghostwriters” (via another Billboard article) and not achieving as much commercial success.
