The ensemble cast includes Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Chace Crawford, Jack Quaid, and more. The performances of the actors over four seasons of the show have been highly appreciated. The Boys has received positive remarks from critics and the audience for its storyline, action sequences, characters, and dark humor. As the show enters its fifth and final season, fans have predicted some remarkable theories about The Deep that they wish to see in the last season.

Chace Crawford’s The Deep will receive his comeuppance in The Boys Season 5

Gossip Girl alum Chace Crawford plays The Deep on the show. Also known as King of the Seas, he is regarded as one of the hilarious but overlooked, disrespected, and made fun of characters on the show. The character who desperately wants to be the right hand to Antony Starr‘s Homelander comes off as a pure human being with intentions of doing good, but his position at Vought forces him to choose bad deeds.

Over the seasons, The Deep becomes arrogant and selfish, and let’s not forget that he joined the members in s**ually assaulting Starlight when she joined The Seven. Despite experiencing a bloody beatdown at the hands of Starlight and being s**ually assaulted by a fan via his gills during his escapades with Ambrosius the Octopus, the character is still considered flawed. Fans believe that he is going to finally receive his comeuppance in the final season.

In a thread on Reddit, fans have predicted how they’d like to see the ending arc of King of Seas. A user mentioned that even though he publicly apologized to Annie, a.k.a. Starlight, for assaulting her, he never felt remorse about his actions. Just for that, Starlight should be the one who kills him with Hughie’s help.

After getting involved with Sister Sage, Deep starts to ignore Ambrosius, and she dies after he breaks the aquarium. So a user mentioned under the thread that if Ambrosius survives and makes it back to the ocean, she could tell the sea creatures how messed up the King of Seas is. They further added,

So when Homelander’s plan fails and Deep decides to go into the ocean, he just gets jumped by all the sea life.

That’s how his fate for treating Ambrosius the wrong way is met. Someone added that he’s probably going to get himself killed by doing something stupid or maybe Ashley Barrett would do that. One way or another, the character has to pay for his actions, and fans believe dying at the hands of something you’ve preached all your life is not only the worst but also makes one wonder about the fact that every action has a consequence.

Chace Crawford is ‘not yet done’ with The Deep

Ahead of the premiere of season four, Chace Crawford mentioned in an interview with W Magazine that he might be the only one who would do the show for another ten years. He said,

When I first read the script for the show, the humor was really dark and right up my alley, but I didn’t know if it would work tonally. We thought it had a chance to find an audience, but for it to have this global popularity was a very pleasant surprise.

He further stated that he loves the character so much, but as it has been announced that season five is going to be the final season, he agrees with whatever the show-runner Eric Kripke believes is the best. Crawford mentioned that it’s tough to know when to stick the landing on TV, and they didn’t want to overcook the storylines. He said he’ll be sad, as it has been one of the greatest rides of his life, but he is looking forward to saying goodbye with a bang.

Crawford was asked about his character’s shift over the seasons, to which he acknowledged that Deep tries to change but ends up back in the same place. The character only feels bad when he’s caught, and he starts to feel a tiny tinge of humility. Chace Crawford noted that Deep is a privileged a**hole, which is the fun part of playing him on screen.

Guess the audience has to wait for Season 5 to see what Eric Kripke has decided to be The Deep’s fate!
