The Grammy winner singer, Lizzo has always had always maintained a positive image. This is partly a result of her constant belief and dedication to promoting body positivity and empowering women. But that changed a few days ago as allegations came to light against the singer.

As three of Lizzo’s former backup dancers have filed lawsuits alleging s*xual harassment and a toxic work environment, Lizzo’s name is being dragged through the mud. The former director of the 2022 documentary “Love, Lizzo,” Sophia Nahlia Allison, has joined the uproar and added fuel to the fire by accusing the artist of being dishonest and encouraging an unwelcoming work environment.

S*xual harassment allegations against Lizzo

Lizzo is a renowned pop star who is praised for her powerful songs and for promoting body positivity. But she is currently dealing with a significant lawsuit that puts her reputation at trial. Three former dancers have filed a complaint alleging serious misconduct which included claims of hostile work conditions and s*xual harassment. These allegations against Lizzo make everyone doubt whether her treatment of her staff is really okay or not. And also it makes everyone question whether she really believes in all the messages she tends to promote.

Lizzo, her production business, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., and dance squad leader Shirlene Quigley are named in the case. The accusations state a wide range of unpleasant actions, including forcing dancers into unflattering s*xual situations, making sexist comments about weight gain, and requiring intense rehearsals that allegedly led to a dancer soiling herself. Lizzo promptly addressed the accusations on Instagram, calling them “unbelievable” and denying them.

She has hired famous Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, who has experience working with famous celebrities, to represent her. There are nine individual instances of misbehavior detailed in the lawsuit brought by Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez that are connected to their participation in Lizzo’s “Special” tour. There is a complex network of allegations, some of which are directed at all three defendants while others are specific to particular people.

According to reports, Lizzo’s Instagram account has lost a significant amount of followers as a result of the s*xual harassment claims. According to MainOline, which cited information from a statistics website, the singer’s following count has reportedly dropped from 13.5 million to 13.3 million as a result of an enormous 220,000 follower loss.

Though Lizzo responded by denying all claims on Instagram but she also admitted that the previous few days had been extremely trying and discouraging. She voiced her anger at having her morality, work ethic, and character called into doubt.

Lizzo stressed that she usually doesn’t respond to accusations, but she thought these ones were too ridiculous to pass up responding to. She defended her character and work ethic, saying the claims did not represent who she is. The three dancers who brought the lawsuit, Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez, and Arianna Davis have since expressed dissatisfaction with Lizzo’s handling of their complaints.
