Only the most observant fans have discovered that several of Marvel’s top actors have covertly performed multiple roles in the MCU. Some of the names on the list are among the world’s most well-known actors and many fans are still unaware of their roles.

1. Chris Hemsworth as Thor and One Of Hajo’s Heads

Chris Hemsworth’s representation as Thor, God of Thunder, has made him one of the most famous performers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hemsworth has played Odinson in several films, including Thor: Ragnarok, in which he discreetly had a supporting part.
Hajo is a three-headed gladiator from Sakaar who travels to Asgard with Korg and Loki, where he is killed in battle against Hela’s forces. Each of his heads is played by a separate actor via motion capture, with Hemsworth playing the one on Hajo’s right.

2. Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange And Dormammu

With his portrayal as Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme – one of many standout characters from the franchise’s third phase – Benedict Cumberbatch has swept the Marvel Cinematic Universe by storm. Cumberbatch played Strange in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. Also, he had an additional role that many fans did not notice in his debut film.

The actor boldly provided the voice for Dormammu – which means Doctor Strange is clearly negotiating with himself in the movie’s memorable climax. According to the actor, this was plotted to create a parallel storyline between Dormammu and Strange: “It’s not immediately noticeable, but a lot of the animation is sort of like a mirror reflection, a rippled mirror reflection, of him, of Strange.”

3. Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva And Sersi

Gemma Chan bagged a small MCU role after getting her first break on the sci-fi show Humans, but that couldn’t hurdle her from getting a more significant role in Phase 4. Minn-Erva played by Chan, is a Kree sniper and a loyal member of Starforce. Minn-Erva was gunned down by Maria Rambeau as the end of Captain Marvel came by, although there were more ways the longtime Captain Marvel villain could have survived to appear again in the future.

The actress also played the role of Sersi in The Eternals, as one of the main members of the immortal family who has also been a part of the Avengers in the comics universe.

4. Martin Starr as Amadeus Cho And Mr. Harrington

Martin Starr initially got the role of an unnamed university employee in the MCU featuring a cameo with Lou Ferrigno, the former Hulk actor in The Incredible Hulk. The movie’s novel adaptation highlighted Starr’s role as Amadeus Cho – Marvel Comics’ most famous Asian-American superheroes – but a lot of fans preferred ignoring this troublesome attempt of continuity.

Luckily, Starr bagged a much significant role in the movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he played Mr. Harrington, Peter Parker’s academic mentor.

5. Clancy Brown as Ray Schoonover And Surtur

Clancy Brown is famously known for playing roles of many military officials and dubbing the voice of Mr. Krabs on the cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants, and he blessed Marvel Cinematic Universe with both his talents. In the first season of The Punisher on Netflix, Brown was given the role of Ray Schoonover, one of the series’ impactful villains.

He played the part of villainy in Thor: Ragnarok, where he dubbed the voice for Surtur, the fearful lord of Muspelheim – and Asgard’s doom.
