5 Times Jujutsu Kaisen Left Fans Disappointed With Awful Characters
Jujutsu Kaisen has been a spectacular journey right from the beginning. The anime has everything it takes to captivate the audience, from the awe-inspiring storyline to the melee of characters. However, not all characters are well-loved. In fact, there are some characters in Jujutsu Kaisen we would all like to see axed down mercilessly.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a series where some villains are well-liked in the fandom, but not everything is black-and-white. The characters in Jujutsu Kaisen straddle a thin line between good and evil, and it is in this grey area that the viewers get to judge whether a character is likable or not. Here is a list of the characters who are downright hated by the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom.
No. 5: Yoshinobu Gakuganji
Yes, this man, right here, is one of the most detestable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite being an elderly Jujutsu higher-up, Yoshinobu Gakuganji is someone who probably deserves to be throttled.
That is solely because, as the principal of the Kyoto branch, it was his responsibility to look after every student. Yet, not only does he recklessly try to have Yuji Itadori executed by the other students, but he also executes the Tokyo headmaster, Masamichi Yaga.
To make matters worse, he demands respect from those he antagonizes, and he was nearly useless during the attack of the Cursed Spirits during the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Moreover, his intense dislike towards Gojo Satoru is enough to earn hate from the latter’s large fanbase.
No. 4: Mei Mei
Mei Mei gained massive hate from Jujutsu Kaisen fans in the second season. She is the perfect representation of the corruption of Jujutsu society, and this makes her one of the worst characters in the series. Instead of helping out in the Shibuya Incident Arc, she fled to Kuala Lumpur with her brother, Ui Ui.
Mei Mei didn’t really care about what would happen to Japan, and perhaps a lot of characters could have been saved had she helped out. Mei Mei’s greed knows no bounds, and that has been shown consistently since the first season. But season 2 showed that she went as far as grooming her own little brother so that she could manipulate his cursed technique for her benefit.
No. 3: Jogo
When we were first introduced to the volcano head, Jogo, we saw him setting fire to many innocent people at a restaurant. Jogo is a special grade curse who believes that his strength can overwhelm Gojo. However, when he comes face to face with the sorcerer, he gets defeated soundly.
Jogo is often seen partnering with Kenjaku, Mahito, Dagon, and Hanami to eradicate humans. In Shibuya, he was the one who tricked Satoru and helped Kenjaku to capture him in the Prison Realm. Moreover, he obviously has no remorse over killing humans, and he casually torched two Grade 1 sorcerers and Maki Zenin, who just got out of Dagon’s domain.
No. 2: Kenjaku
Kenjaku is one of the darkest entities that we have come across in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Kenjaku has lived for about a thousand years by possessing different people as he can transplant his brain into anybody. Geto Suguru, whom we hated for capturing Gojo Satoru in the Prison Realm, was actually Kenjaku.
Kenjaku not only acquires a person’s body, but he also steals their inherent techniques and becomes more powerful than before. When it comes to strategizing things, no one can match the level of this cursed spirit. He also used Geto as a vessel so that he could merge his Curse Manipulation Technique with his own and accomplish his goals.
No. 1: Mahito
Mahito is among the Jujutsu Kaisen‘s worst characters and probably the most hated character in the entire show. He is pure evil, and there’s no rhyme or reason behind his crimes. Mahito was born from humanity’s hatred, and it’s fitting that he is portrayed as taking pleasure in killing his victims.
Yes, he is among the worst just because he’s injured and killed several beloved characters in Jujutsu Kaisen (Nanami Kento and Kugisaki Nobara). Although those brutal acts alone made the entire fandom despise him and rejoice over his satisfying demise, there is another factor that makes him the most hated.
He doesn’t care about anybody but himself, as seen in his last moments when he begged Kenjaku to save him. He shows no regrets about the people he had killed mercilessly and manipulates people for his needs.
