There is no doubt that Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular shonen series that has taken the world by storm. The series has become incredibly popular ever since receiving an anime adaptation and has continually grown in popularity ever since. Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen is at the peak of its popularity, however, at the same time, the series is also at its climax.

Fans were already aware that Jujutsu Kaisen was starting to wrap up. The story does not have much left, given that the Shinjuku Showdown arc has already begun and the events of the arc feel like the manga is certainly coming to an end. Moreover, all the major characters are already taking part in the story and the primary villains have also taken their prominent roles.

Although the signs were already present that the series would end very soon, Gege Akutami confirmed that the story will wrap up in the Jump Festa 2023 stage. However, we are already halfway through 2024 and the series is nowhere near completion.

A reliable source on X posted that the editor of Jujutsu Kaisen, Junya Fukuda, in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine claimed that Jujutsu Kaisen‘s ‘Shinjuku Showdown’ arc is at its climax. The X user @Go_Jover also recommends taking the editor’s words with a grain of salt since the last time the editor claimed that Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna’s fight was nearing climax, the battle went on for another 8-10 chapters.

If the editor is serious about the Shinjuku Showdown arc reaching its conclusion, then it won’t be too long before Jujutsu Kaisen comes to an end as well. However, there’s no telling when the series will actually conclude as no official day has been mentioned as of yet.

Back in January 2024, the hosts of a One Piece-themed variety show had the opportunity to tour the Jump editorial department. During this visit, they ran into Junya Fukuda and talked to him about different things, including the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen.

As Fukuda and the hosts talked more, it was revealed that author Gege Akutami had already decided on how Jujutsu Kaisen manga would come to an end. According to Fukuda, Akutami explained everything to him till the end, accidentally, in a meeting. Fukuda told the hosts (via Soukatsu’s translations on X):

He told me like how he wanted things to go, and he’s got it all planned out.

While Fukuda said that he enjoyed getting “spoiled” on the plot of the manga, he was looking forward to seeing how Akutami executed the story in the end after talking about it. Fukuda’s comment only reaffirmed what Akutami had revealed earlier in the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbook, where he said that he had the ending planned out and he only needed to think about how to reach these endings.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via VIZ Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app.
