1. Spider-Man (2002)
This is a no-brainer. If we talk of Willem Dafoe’s best portrayal of a role, Green Goblin will always show up on the list. He wasn’t the first choice for the role, but we’re glad he ended up doing the role because we feel nobody else could do it as he did! Remember the mirror scene where both his personalities argue with each other? ONLY Willem could’ve done that scene this beautifully!
2. Wild At Heart (1990)

From his make up to his acting, everything is on point about him. The scene in which he terrorizes Lula is upsetting! The movie also stars Nicolas Cage.
3. Shadow Of The Vampire (2000)
Under all the layers of makeup and a bold cap, it was Willem playing the character of Max Schreck. Needless to say, he did an excellent job and received an Oscar nomination for this role. The movie is a fictionalized account of the making of Nosferatu, a classic vampire film.
4. Siberia (2020)
In this drama/fantasy movie, we get to see another side of Willem: dedicated, motivated, coherent, and not perturbed by weird dramatic situations. Fans didn’t like the plot of the movie and found it confusing due to loads of dialogues in a foreign language and no subtitles. But, one thing is commendable about the movie: Willem Dafoe’s acting!
5. Light Sleeper (1992)
Apart from appearing in supporting roles and cameos, Willem also played the lead roles. He played the role of John LeTour, a drug dealer. This movie allowed him to show how great of an actor he is.
