88-Year-Old James Bond Star Made Emily Blunt Quit Her Career Before Hollywood Fame

Judi Dench Talked Emily Blunt Out of Her Pop Career

The 40-year-old, during her time on Jimmy Kimmel Live, revealed she nearly switched to pop music, when she first entered the industry.
The British actress claimed she could have been Britney Spears. When the host asked why she chose not to, the Jungle Cruise actress replied, “Cause I realized that I’m not good at dancing and didn’t want to be Britney, I don’t know.”
The Devil Wears Prada star revealed that she was approached early on about a future in the pop industry. She was almost going to take the alternate path when Judi Dench talked her out of it and prevented her from starting on an alternative career. Blunt said,
“I was doing a play, my first job was with Judi Dench — the dame — which was incredible, and she was wonderful to me.”
The actress asked the James Bond star for advice regarding her career, as the 40-year-old was nervous and confused. Blunt recalled the advice she received from Dench,
“Oh, no, darling, you can’t do both. You can’t act and do that.’ She talked me out of it. She put the kibosh on that.”
Thankfully, the 88-year-old actress talked Emily Blunt out of her pop career, but she did record a few songs, one of them being, Ring It Up.
Emily Blunt Achieved Success in Her Acting Career
