9 Marvel Actors Who Are Leaving the MCU vs DCU War Behind to Join James Gunn’s Rebooted DC Universe
Several prominent actors well-known for their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have decided to put the MCU vs. DCU rivalry asides and join James Gunn’s highly anticipated reboot of the DC Universe. As the well-known director James Gunn prepared for his DC reboot, he is all set to bring in a few Marvel actors for the new universe. Gunn confirmed that most of the actors from the Guardians of the Galaxy are likely to pop up in his new DC story at one point or another. The below-given list provides the name of nine Marvel actors who are to appear in James Gunn’s new DC story
1. David Harbour

David Harbour well known for his work in Strange Things is likely to be part of James Gunn‘s new DC story. Harbour debuted in MCU as Alexi Shostakov aka Red Guardian in Black Widow. This character of Harbour is also going to pop up in next year’s Thunderbolts before he crosses the company lines and takes up the role of Eric Frankenstein in DC.
2. Pom Klementieff
The Guardian of the Galaxy star Pom Klementieff will also be joining the DC. With her role as Mantis, this French beauty has already appeared in the MCU franchises six times. Even though as of now there is no confirmation as to what role she is going to play, she revealed that she was in conversation with the DC executives.
2. Maria Bakalova

The Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova who recently made her debut in the Marvel Studios is also expected to appear in James Gunn’s new DC story. Bakalova played the role of Cosmo the Space Dog in Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. In the DC Universe she will lend her voice to the Creature Commandos.
4. Isabel Merced
Isabel Merced who has recently been revealed to be part of DCU as is said to appear as Hawkgirl in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. Although before she appears as Hawkgirl she is also accepted to be part of Sony Pictures Spider-Man spin-off, Madame Web. However, her role in this movie is still unknown.
5. Nathan Fillion
The bond between the director James Gunn and Nathan Fillion seems to be very strong as the actor follows the director almost in every movie. Nathan Fillion the Firefly star after appearing in every one of the Guardians of the Galaxy film is now set to be part of Gunn’s new DC story. He is also accepted to play the part of Green Lantern Guy Garnder in the 2025’s Superman: Legacy which is also directed by James Gunn.
6. Frank Grillo
Frank Grillo who played the role of Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Caption America: Civil War is also said to join DCU as Creature Commandos Rick Flag Sr. Previously Grillo joked about him playing a big part in the DCU as the father of Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag, one of the characters who was seen in both Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad.
7. Sean Gunn
The bother of James Gunn, Sean Gunn who played the role of Guardian Kraglin in Guardian of the Galaxy is also said to enter into the new DC story. He is also said to reprise in The Suicide Squad in the role of Weasel in Creature Commandos.
8. Alan Tudyk
After appearing in more than one Marvel role Alan Tudyk is all set to jump over to DCU. His role in Big Hero 6 and a small cameo in 2018’s Deadpool 2 as Luke is loved and remembered by a lot of MCU fans.
9. Edi Gathegi
Edi Gathegi who has lived in his super-powered role as Darwin in Fox’s X-Men: First Class is also going to be part of James Gunn’s new DC story. In the DCU Gathegi is going to play the cult favorite comic hero Mr. Terrific who is a super-genius who wields mysterious robotic devices known as T-sphere, in the upcoming Superman: Legacy.
