The power scaling in Assassination Classroom is no joke. Even if we don’t count the teachers, the students alone comprise some of the strongest characters in the entire series. While most of them possess the superhuman strength of the world’s finest assassins, after gaining antimatter-infused tentacle powers, a few students achieved a level of power that is beyond human comprehension.

So, here we’ve ranked the 5 strongest students in Assassination Classroom, imagining them in a 1v1 scenario. The #1 pick is the only student who could give Koro-sensei the toughest time. So, let’s check them out, shall we?

ANIME TITLEAssassination Classroom

IMDb RATING (as of July 24, 2026)7.9/10
WHERE TO WATCHCrunchyroll, Netflix

5. Karma Excels Despite Having No Supernatural Powers

Karma is the only human student with no supernatural powers who earned a spot on the list. His raw strength, intelligence, and quick reflexes alone make him one of the strongest characters. In fact, considering both physical prowess and academic knowledge, Karma even edges out Gakushu as well. He is often considered the most naturally gifted human student in the entire series. Still, his lack of super abilities puts him at a disadvantage against the other four students on the list.

4. Ritsu’s Sci-fi Tech Easily Puts Her Above Most Students

Ritsu is an odd one out in the entire cast of Assassination Classroom because she is neither normal nor mutated. Ritsu is essentially an advanced AI assassination machine, which makes her absolutely deadly. She can analyze battlefields in the blink of an eye and calculate countless possibilities. Then, based on those results, she can even launch highly accurate attacks from long range. But since she isn’t as effective in close-range combat, we had to rank her outside the top 3.

3. Kaede’s Anti-Sensei Tentacles Are Way Too Destructive

After Kaede awakens her Anti-Sensei Tentacles, she instantly jumps from being just another capable human assassin to one of the strongest characters in the entire series. Naturally, with this mutation came great speed and power. In fact, in the anime, she was even capable of giving Korosensei a tough time for a brief moment. But the reason she is not ranked higher than 3rd place is her lack of experience with her newfound powers. However, she certainly does have the potential.

2. Itona Ranks Among Koro-sensei’s Strongest Opponents

The only reason Itona is ranked higher than Kaede is his mastery over his tentacle powers, which Kaede lacks. Another thing that makes Itona truly deserving of 2nd place is that he was already strong enough to potentially claim a spot in the top 5 even without his mutation powers. He has years of experience training with his tentacles and is almost capable of doing everything that Korosensei does. Thus, he is often considered one of Korosensei’s toughest opponents.

1. The Reaper Is Assassination Classroom‘s Strongest Student

Quite inarguably, the Reaper secures the #1 spot on the list as the strongest student in Assassination Classroom. While he didn’t exactly join the academy as a student, he had previously been trained by the original Reaper, aka Korosensei. That makes him a former student of Koro-sensei himself. And, upon receiving his Anti-Sensei Tentacles, his abilities reached a whole new level. Not even Itona could stand a chance against him. He eventually became the final boss of the series.

What are your thoughts on the entries? And do you believe there’s some other student who should’ve made the list? Let us know in the comments.

Assassination Classroom is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll & Netflix.
