And that’s why he liked Newt because Newt took care of monsters.
Eddie Redmayne played the character of Newt Scamander in the movies, where Dumbledore struggled with his identity as a gay man falling in love with a Dark Wizard, Gellert Grindelwald. Law goes on to talk about his character’s fight with Grindelwald.
Because of Dumbledore’s past, I think he always felt guilty that he had been misled because he was in love. It followed him. He found himself to be unlovable because he trusted his heart.
