While filming the movie along with her co-stars, the Ava star wasn’t experienced with performing an action hero. So, her co-star Sam Worthington took responsibility for being Chastain’s coach and taught her to run like Tom Cruise as the actress wanted her role as the younger version of Helen Mirren‘s character to be genuine. The Molly’s Game star once told Vulture:
“And Sam [Worthington] took it upon himself to be my action coach, and he taught me how to pump my arms like Tom Cruise when I run. A lot of times I see movies with girls in action sequences, and I don’t buy it at all, but he helped me make it look really real. Because I’d never been in a fight in my life.”
Jessica Chastain explained how she learned to portray the action role while being new in the genre. The Debt is a remake of an Israeli movie of the same name and received positive reviews from fans and critics. The storyline is a psychological thriller and focuses on showcasing how the Mossad agents were assigned to capture a notorious Nazi war criminal. Tom Cruise Helped Jessica Chastain To Leave His Movie
The Mission: Impossible star helped the Mama star, once again and influenced Chastain’s career when she was committed to his movie Oblivion, and at the same time she was offered to play a lead role in Zero Dark Thirty. To accept this, Jessica Chastain required Tom Cruise’s help. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Miss Sloane star revealed:
“I was contractually obligated to do something else that I was really wanting to do, and I was excited to do [the 2013 thriller Oblivion, starring Cruise]. But when this came my way, I realized I had to do this. And the person who made it possible for me to do this movie is Tom Cruise. Someone contacted him from my agency and said, ‘Listen, she wants to work with you. And she would love to, but there is this other film, and it’s so important.’ And he said, ‘OK, we’re going to let you out of your contract.”
Jessica Chastain then accepted the offer to play the leading role in Zero Dark Thirty and was praised for her performance and the storyline which was excellently riddled with unguarded and realistic violence and an enthralling hunt for evidence.
