One thing bad about Hollywood is- it takes years to become a star but no time to vanish. For years you struggle, but in just a day you can be out of the show business as if you didn’t even exist! This is the harsh reality of Hollywood or we can say any entertainment industry. The ’90s was a golden era in the field of entertainment. It saw tons of new shows, movies, actors, and whatnot. However, not all actors managed to be in the limelight for long. The same is the case for shows and movies. So, here’s a list of iconic ’90s stars who just vanished from show business. Check it out! Let us know in the comments who was your favorite actor from the list.
1. Bridget Fonda
Fonda started her acting career at the age of 5 in her father Peter’s movie “Easy Rider”. However, she got her first major role in “Scandal”, for which she was also nominated. In 1992 with the release of “Single White Female” followed by “Point of No Return”, she became a superstar. She was last seen on-screen in 2002’s “Snow Queen”. In 2003, she married composer Danny Elfman and has stayed away from the screen. Given the number of years she’s been away from movies and shows says it is most unlikely she’ll return now. But if she does, we won’t complain!
2. Charlie Korsmo
In 1990 and 1991, Charlie was a part of projects like Warren Beatty’s “Dick Tracy”, Steven Spielberg’s “Hook” and “What About Bob?”. While some of these projects failed, others became family classics. However, Charlie quit his acting career in the late ’90s to pursue a career in law. He currently works as an Assistant Professor of Law and the U.S. director of the Canada-U.S. Law Institute at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
3. Geena Davis
In the early ’90s, Geena enjoyed superstardom. However, the mid to late ’90s weren’t good for her. Her movies were bombing at the box office. One of her movies “The Long Kiss Goodnight” was subtly better than her other flopped movies, but that couldn’t help her revive her acting career. Even though she has appeared on and off in movies and TV shows over the years, her presence is so bleak that it’s next to nothing!
4. Wesley Snipes
Snipes gained extreme stardom with his role in the movie “Blade” based on Marvel Comics. The movie got two sequels. The first sequel was a massive hit. However, the second one couldn’t impress the audience and the critics! Soon after, Snipes got into legal trouble over unpaid taxes. This led to damage to his acting career. Nevertheless, he appeared in “The Expendables 3”. But post that, nothing much was seen from him in the acting field. When MCU announced they’d be making a reboot of “Blade”, fans thought Wesley would reprise his role. However, Mahershala Ali got the part.
5. Madeleine Stowe
In the ’90s Madeleine enjoyed crazy stardom with her superhit projects so much so that most ’90s kids would be able to recognize her roles. She was that good with her job. However, time didn’t treat her well. For most of the 2000s, she couldn’t be seen in movies or shows until she starred in the ABC series “Revenge” from 2011-2015.
6. Jonathan Taylor Thomas
The ’90s teen heartthrob was famous amongst teen girls. Jonathan worked in various movies and shows. However, he stayed away from the limelight in most of the 2000s. He did so to dedicate his life to academics. During this period he studied at Harvard and graduated from Columbia University School of General Studies. But in 2013 and 2015 he reunited with his former TV father Tim Allen on “Last Man Standing” appearing as a guest for a couple of episodes.
