Actual Crimes Committed By Characters On The Office
The Office is often considered one of the best comedy television shows and for all the right reasons. From some of the best openings to Jim’s pranks on Dwight, the show comprises of era-defining comedy and still enjoys a lot of love. However, there were some instances where the show went too far and the characters actually committed some serious crimes. So, let’s take a look at some of the crimes that the characters from The Office committed. Check it out!
1. Corporate Fraud
Ryan is a walking contradiction and the fans love that. However, he committed a serious corporate fraud where he gave the impression of better sales performance by entering the same sale twice. This is actually a third-degree crime and considering that he was hired back by the same company, be it whatever circumstances were a little too much to deal with.
2. Physical Assault
Roy lost control of himself when he learned that Pam kissed Jim while they were engaged. He barged into the office and was almost about to knock Jim’s bottom row of teeth. However, Dwight intervened and saved Jim’s life. This, in fact, is a serious second-degree crime and in real life, things would have got really serious.
3. Meredith’s Indecent Exposure
Fans love Meredith because they consider her to be original all the time. However, it goes without saying that some of her actions were straight-up gross. At times, she has displayed indecent exposure which too is a second-degree crime. There were times where she went full nude. Imagine that happening in real life.
4. Child Abandonment
Ryan is a problem child and it shows. In the finale of the show, Ryan literally leaves his kid at the wedding and takes off with Kelly. First, this isn’t good humour, and second, this is a serious crime. If he was caught and charged, he would have to pay a hefty fine and even serve a maximum of 5 years in prison. The storyline was brought in to give Nellie Bertram a happy ending, but indecent.
5. Sexual Harassment
Michael Scott, the best boss ever, is famously known to push the limits of a joke. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about and in turn, makes indecent remarks. However, the scene where he forcefully kisses Oscar in order to end the stigma of being gay is straight-up offensive. If it wasn’t for Oscar, and fiction, this was a serious crime.
6. Hiring An Assasin
Angela is not as clean as she claims to be. When she figured out that Oscar was sleeping with her husband, the Senator, she couldn’t act rationally and ended up hiring an assassin who was Dwight’s friend. Even though the plan didn’t go through, it was still pretty scary. This was an act of premeditated murder and wouldn’t rest well in her case.
