The Infinite Tsukuyomi can be performed through the Rinne-Shringan, which is a genjutusu that reflects off the moon and is then cast on the entire population, enslaving everyone in eternal slumber. All those who are trapped in this jutsu enter a dream world, where usually, they get to live the way they wanted in real life and fulfill some of their ambitions.

On exploring more, it has been revealed that the Infinite Tsukuyomi slowly sucks in the chakras of all human beings, making them turn into their former selves; losing their personality and becoming devoid of their chakras. The stolen chakras, when consumed by the eater, give them immense power, making the Infinite Tsukuyomi the most fearsome jutsu to exist in the world of Naruto.

Fans wonder if Boruto is Naruto’s Tsukoyomi dream

Naruto‘s sequel, Boruto, is set 15 years after the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War in Naruto Shippuden, and Boruto’s characters were first seen in the film Boruto: Naruto the Movie.

Dedicated anime viewers have repeatedly questioned whether Boruto could be the Infinite Tsukuyomi because they think it would be difficult to carry on Naruto’s legacy and that the sequel has consistently received unfairly harsh criticism from the audience. Fans have pointed out that it’s possible that Boruto is Naruto’s Infinite Tsukuyomi’s dream and that Naruto never escaped the Infinite Tsukuyomi and everything that followed was just a dream, even though Sasuke and Naruto were able to escape the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The world in Boruto is peaceful compared to the world in Naruto, but it has been claimed by the fans that Naruto wanted a world without conflict, and Boruto’s world is the result of Naruto’s selfless acts which makes a lot of sense. This fan theory began to stir up a lot of theories among the fans. The idea that Boruto is Naruto’s Infinite Tsukuyomi dream is strengthened by the show’s portrayal of a peaceful world where most conflicts have been settled. According to the theory, Naruto was unable to help but daydream about a perfect world without Nagato’s described cycle of pain.
