American sports commentator Michael Irvin has decided to file a $100 million lawsuit against a woman who accused him of misconduct. The woman explained that the incident took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Glendale, Arizona. Irvin is now a sports commentator and a famous TV star. He believes that he is being “railroaded” with false allegations. He now seeks $100 million in a lawsuit as he believes this is an attempt to “cancel” him and end his career. The NFL Network removed him from its Super Bowl 2023 coverage amid the accusations.
The former NFL star says there was no s*xual misbehavior
Michael Irvin has claimed that there “definitely was no s*xual misbehavior.” More details of the incident are yet to be revealed. His legal team recently released a statement,
“It is clear Michael is the most recent victim of our cancel culture where all it takes is an allegation to destroy an individual’s life. Michael looks forward to clearing his name in court and hopes the Court of popular opinion will see the fact come out too.”
In the lawsuit, he has accused the hotel’s management and workers of making him the victim of “cancel culture.” He was immediately pulled from covering Super Bowl LVII on Wednesday.
Michael Irvin only had a 45-second conversation with the woman
The commentator has repeatedly claimed that there was no misconduct and that he only had a “45-second conversation” with the woman in the hotel’s lobby. He told Dallas Morning News,
“When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds. We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know.”
He said once he learned of the allegations, his team immediately gathered all the witnesses who can confirm his story. Irvin was a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He became a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
