After Robert Pattinson, Another Twilight Star Set to Play Fan-Favorite Superhero in James Gunn’s DCU
James Gunn has made three new additions to Superman: Legacy. The movie that will mark the live-action rebirth of the DC Universe has added three new actors to its cast, each of them playing a superhero with a long history in the comic books. The new heroes fit into James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reset of the DC Universe. In addition to Robert Pattinson’s role as Batman, Gunn is bringing in another major Twilight star in the superhero role.
James Gunn’s DCU To Have Another Twilight Star As A Superhero
James Gunn revealed in the latest interview with Vanity Fair that Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi will be Mister Terrific and Nathan Fillion will portray a Green Lantern. Edi Gathegi’s big break came in 2008 when he was cast as a vampire named Laurent in Twilight. He then appeared in projects like X-Men: First Class, Atlas Shrugged, Justified, The Blacklist, The Blacklist: Redemption, and StartUp. The 2025 movie is written and will be directed by James Gunn himself.
In addition to the Twilight star, Edi Gathegi, Superman: Legacy will also establish Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Mister Terrific will not be the first time Gathegi will play a superhero, as his character Darwin was a mutant in X-Men: First Class, with reactive evolution ability.

Who Is Edi Gathegi? Things To Know About The New Superman: Legacy Star
James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is scheduled to release in 2025, and fans are excited to see what the film brings to the table. According to the recent additions to the cast of the film, DC boss, James Gunn revealed that Kenyan-American actor Edi Gathegi will step into the role of a superhero called Mister Terrific. Born in1979, in Nairobi, Kenya, Edi Gathegi soon moved to Albany, California, in the U.S, and worked in Two Trains Running, As You Like It, Twelfth Night, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Cyrano de Bergerac.
Gathegi’s professional film debut happened in 2006’s Crank. He then went on to appear in Lincoln Heights, Veronica Mars, Death Sentence, The Fifth Patient, Gone Baby Gone, House, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Life on Mars. Gathegi will now be seen in Dc’s Superman: Legacy in the role of Mister Terrific, a.k.a. Michael Holt, who is not only a skilled combatant but one of the world’s most brilliant inventors and tacticians, orbited by the floating T-Sphere weapons he designed.
