After Will Smith Humiliated Him With Oscars Slap, Chris Rock Promises To Watch Emancipation ‘Just So He Could Watch Smith Get Whipped’
By now everyone is aware of what went down between Chris Rock and Will Smith at the last year’s Oscars ceremony. The slap gate incident became a huge thing over the internet with various memes being made out of it. Smith has apologized since then, and after the incident, he seemed to have been busy with his 2022 flick Emancipation. As for Rock, he seems to have decided to finally give his view on the situation with a touch of comedy. On his upcoming Netflix Special, viewers will be seeing the comedian make jokes about both the infamous incident and Smith himself.
Chris Rock Takes a Dig at Will Smith in His Comedic Way
Months have gone by since the infamous Oscar slap incident happened last year. Although Will Smith apologized later, the incident will forever remain etched on people’s minds. It was a truly surprising reaction regarding the event and Smith himself. Also, the incident had been all over the internet which can hardly be forgotten easily.
And recently some clips from Chris Rock’s upcoming Netflix special Selective Outrage, showed the Comedian making light of the incident. People are going to see Rock slap back Smith with his fun and comedic take on the whole situation. Expressing how he always supported the actor, the comedian says,
“The other day, I watched ‘Emancipation’ just so I could watch him getting whipped.”
For those who might not know, Emancipation is a 2022 flick starring Smith. He plays the role of an enslaved man in 1860s Louisiana. As the character gets tortured physically, Rock joked about hate-watching the flick. Aside from that, the Comedian will be taking various digs at the Suicide Squad star and the slap gate incident itself. Furthermore, he also made another joke concerning Smith at London’s O2 arena. According to Deadline, Rock said,
“He played Ali! I can’t even play Floyd Mayweather.”
The comedian seems to have found a harmless way to slap back at someone who slapped him before a huge audience.
Oscar Slap Gate Incident 2022
Undoubtedly, Will Smith and Chris Rock’s slapping incident was the highlight of last year’s Oscar award function. For that unversed, if there is any, Rock who had been hosting the show made various jokes as he is Comedian. However one of the jokes failed to land correctly. While talking about Jada Pinkett Smith, the Comedian pointed out her bald head in a manner that poked fun at it. This turned out to be a bad spot for Rock; what he seemed to have been unaware of was that the Girls Trip star suffers from Alopecia. It is a medical condition resulting in total loss of hair from a region. Therefore taking it as a disrespectful act, the After Earth actor ended up slapping Rock on stage. He later apologized for his heat-of-the-moment reaction.
